Federal Veteran's Administration Educational Benefits

Veteran's Administration Educational Benefit (Chapters 30, 33, 35, 1606 and 1607), also called the "GI bill." Requests for students will be certified in the Veterans' Resource Center of Syracuse University. Complete and submit the VA Educational Benefits Request form (PDF). Completed request forms may be submitted via e-mail to veterans@syr.edu, or faxed to 315-443-6689. Request forms must be submitted each term the student-veteran wishes to use their months of entitlement.

Benefits for eligible recipients are approved by the Veteran's Administration.  Tuition payment arrangements may be made based on VA benefits.

Veterans or eligible dependents may contact the VA directly at 1-888-GIBILL (1-888-442-4551) or via the Internet at www.gibill.va.gov for more information.

Veteran's Rehabilitation Benefits (Chapter 31) recipients must work with their VA counselor.  The SU Bursar's office will direct bill for tuition covered.

Active duty tuition assistance recipients must submit verification documentation to the Bursar at the time of registration.
