Colonel Eileen M. Collins Syracuse Drill Team – ‘The Blue Stars”

The Blue Stars logoTo further develop cadets in their understanding of drill & ceremonies and present greater opportunities to excel.” This is the mission of the Blue Stars, founded in 2011. The team is named after the first female NASA space shuttle commander and a graduate of Syracuse University’s AFROTC program: Colonel Eileen Collins.

The standard for all members of the Drill Team is PERFECTION. Each member demonstrates excellent bearing and sets the example for his or her peers. All members exhibit the highest level of professionalism, teamwork, discipline, and respect. These cadets are motivated to succeed because esprit de corps is vital to the success of this team.

The Blue Stars practice both armed and unarmed drill for exhibition and regulation events. There is also a Blue Stars Color Guard, which is responsible for presenting the colors at SU athletic events and is available for events upon request.
