United States Army Veteran Alec Savage was born in Utica, New York In 2017, Alec was commissioned into the United States Army after graduating from the ROTC program at St. Lawrence University. As a cadet, he completed Airborne and Air Assault schools. In 2018 Alec trained at Fort Moore, Georgia, and completed the Infantry Basic Officer Leadership program and U.S. Army Ranger School. In 2019, he earned his Expert Infantry Badge.
As a Second Lieutenant, Alec was assigned to the 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Vilseck, Germany. He served both as a Stryker Platoon leader and Specialty Platoon leader. His platoons operated in training exercises throughout European countries, including France, Hungary, and Romania. In 2021, he was chosen to serve as the Squadron Commander’s Adjutant for the remainder of his time in the Army.
In 2022, Alec was honorably discharged as a Captain and received two Army Commendation Medals and Army Achievement Medals for his military service. He enrolled at Syracuse University’s College of Law and began pursuing his legal career.
His proudest military moment was receiving recognition from leadership as the “best platoon” at a training event. It was an unforgettable moment to receive this honor alongside his teammates for being the only platoon to successfully complete the mission. No greater achievement than a victory as a team!
