United States Army Master Sergeant (Retired) Jennifer-Rebeccah “J-R” Williams hails from Pulaski, New York and enlisted in the Army in 1996 as a Broadcast Journalist and Public Affairs Specialist. J-R served 22 and a half years in the Army before retiring from active duty in 2018.

During her Army service, J-R served as a Radio DJ and Producer; Television News Anchor; Public Affairs Officer, Platoon Sergeant, and Brigade Operations NCO.She also deployed with the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, NY as part of the surge for both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

In June 2001, J-R married the love of her life, Jason, who is also an Army veteran of ten years serving with the 10th Mountain Division and deploying three times. Together they have a 15-year-old daughter named Reilly.

J-R is also a graduate of the Military Motion Media Program at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public communications, and in 2016, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Television, Radio and Film at Syracuse University. Today, J-R continues to serve military service members, veterans, and their families as an Advisor for the Institute of Veterans and Military Families.
