Welcome to Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 535

Detachment 535 is located at Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY.  Air Force ROTC is a commissioning source for the United States Air Force (USAF) and the United States Space Force (USSF), providing students the chance to pursue their bachelor’s degree while participating in military and leadership training.  At Syracuse, we pride ourselves on a training environment that develops our cadets into knowledgeable, efficient, and effective leaders for tomorrow’s Air Force.

Why Detachment 535?

Hosted at Syracuse University, Detachment 535 has cross-town agreements with 12 other universities in the Central New York region.  No other institution can offer a wider selection of academic programs and connections than Syracuse University or one of our cross-town schools.

Our mission is to provide quality, innovative military and professional training for the next generation of Air Force leaders.

As a cross-town cadet you will have the chance to attend one of our 12 cross-town universities while attending Air Force training and academic classes at SU.  Additionally, there are no extra registration costs associated with these courses.
