U.S. Army First Lieutenant Rebeka (Beki) Eaton, a native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, enlisted into the New Mexico Army National Guard as a cadet in 2017. She received a commission as an Engineer Officer in 2019 through the Army ROTC program at New Mexico Military Institute where she also earned her associate degree.

First Lieutenant Eaton then transferred to Syracuse University where she earned a dual major bachelor’s degree in Earth Science and Environment, Sustainability, & Policy. Simultaneously she began her service in the New York Army National Guard.

While attending Syracuse University, First Lieutenant Eaton was a manager for the D1 volleyball team, a player on the women’s club volleyball team, worked in the office of admissions as a university tour guide, and worked with the Dome operations staff. Following graduation, she temporarily worked as a Gold Bar Recruiter for the Syracuse University Army ROTC Department until she began Engineering Basic Officer Leadership Course in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. First Lieutenant Eaton then volunteered to deploy with the 1st Battalion, 69th Infantry to the Horn of Africa for nine months where she served as a Construction Engineer Officer in Somalia earning the Meritorious Service Medal and arriving back home in the summer of 2023.

Today, First Lieutenant Eaton continues showing her love for Syracuse University while working for the Syracuse University Army ROTC Department as a Military Science instructor teaching cadets. She continues her service in the New York Army National Guard with the 152nd Brigade Engineer Battalion in Lockport, New York as an Engineer Executive Officer.
