U.S. Army First Lieutenant Jade Argueta hails from Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2020 and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Engineer Regiment.

Following Basic Officer Leader Course at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, Jade moved to her first duty station at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. She was assigned to the 14th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division.

During her time with the 14th BEB, Jade served as a Horizontal Construction Engineer Platoon Leader in Alpha Company, leading her platoon through a rotation at the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, California. While a platoon leader, she assisted the Brigade with counter-mobility and survivability operations, employing engineer equipment such as D-6 dozers, high mobility engineer excavators, and rapidly emplaced bridging systems.

Following her time as a platoon leader, Jade served as the Executive Officer for Bravo Company, 14th BEB. During her time as an XO, she assisted her Commander in daily operations, managed the maintenance program for the company, and coordinated resources across the battalion. She assisted in the planning and execution for training rotations to Yakima Training Center in Washington. During her time as an XO, she completed a 9-month rotation to the Republic of Korea at Camp Casey-Hovey.

Jade’s awards include Air Assault School graduate, recipient of the Steel de Fleury Medal from the Engineer Regiment, German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.

Jade’s proudest military moment was successfully deploying her company as part of the First Stryker Brigade deployment to Korea, and watching her soldiers and fellow leaders succeed while working closely with the Republic of Korea’s Army.

Jade is currently a first-year law student at Syracuse University College of Law and will graduate in 2026. After graduation, she will join the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, and continue to serve soldiers and leaders as an attorney in the Army. Jade is married to her husband Luke, who is also a First Lieutenant in the Army serving as an Infantry Officer. Jade and Luke met while attending West Point.
